Social Security Reform Cooperation Project - Component 2 (EU) 11/2008-ongoing 

The project is to support the transition to a sustainable social security system in China which guarantees accessible, adequate and affordable social security benefits to all Chinese citizens.  The project focussed on six Provinces, to be used as pilot Provinces: Gansu, Shandong, Jilin, Hunan, Sichuan, and Beijing Province.  The elements covered were:

1. 1. Health services and medical insurance
2. 2. Improved business processes
3. 3. Social security for rural workers
4. 4. Work injury rehabilitation
5. 5. Unemployment insurance and employment promotion
6. 6. Social care for the elderly

Responsibility of Callund Consulting related to the development and implementation of old-age penison policy, with particular attention to rural pensions and farmers who lost their land.
